Over 100 pupils of Jamboi community primary school study in one classroom

More than 100 pupils of the Jamoi Community Primary School in the Kpandai District of the Northern Region study in one classroom due to the lack of accommodation to house different classes.

As a result, pupils from Kindergarten to primary 6 are always assembled in one classroom to take tuition which has become a major source of worry to both teachers and parents.

The chief and people of Jamboai are therefore appealing to government to come to their aid to complete an abandoned 6-unit GETFUND project.

According to the PTA chairman for the school, the school which was established in 1952 has not seen any infrastructural development until 2011 when a 6 unit GETFUND project was started and work has since been at a standstill.

He said the school has only a single classroom from KG1 to primary six which compelled teachers to combine all to classes.

“The students lie on the floor to write because there are no chairs in the School for some years now. The contractor told us he has not been paid and for that matter can’t continue with the project “he revealed.

The School prefect, Addai Caleb said the school for the past five years does not have a single government furniture and this has compelled students to come to school with their own stools as others write on the bare floor, a situation he described as worrying and is calling on government to come to their aid by seeing to the completion of the abandoned project.
