Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, on Tuesday November 4, 2025 introduced some of Asanteman’s distinguished business moguls, including Dr Osei Kwame Despite, Dr Ernest Ofori Sarpong, Dr Kwaku Oteng to the President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, during the latter’s historic visit to the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.

In a video shared on social media by The Asante Nation, a Manhyia-affiliated media portal, prominent business figures including Dr Osei Kwame Despite, Dr Ernest Ofori Sarpong, Dr Kwaku Oteng among other big wings were captured being introduced by the Asantehene to the German President.

President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, who is on a state visit to Ghana, also made a stop in Kumasi.

On November 4, 2025, he visited the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), where he interacted with the university’s management and some alumni.

During his visit, the German President was presented with symbolic gifts, including a Kente sash and a traditional Fugu attire.

He later toured the Kumasi Centre for Collaborative Research (KCCR) in Tropical Medicine.

President Steinmeier was accompanied by Odeneho Okyere Kusi Ntrama, Essumegyahene, Frederik Landshöft, German Ambassador to Ghana, Dr Frank Amoakohene, the Ashanti Regional Minister, Richard Agyeman-Boadi, Mayor of Kumasi and other German officials.
