Otumfuo extols kaasehene for sterling performance

The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has extolled Nana Mensah Bonsu who was installed Kaasehene two years ago for his performance as a chief.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu described the Kaasehene as development oriented having achieved so much within a relatively short time of his installment and said his feat was worthy of emulation by other chiefs.
The occasion was the commissioning of a modern palace christened "Baaye Siakwan Ahenfie" for Kaase.
The Asantehene saw Nana Mensah Bonsu as humble, respectful and hard working and hoped he would deliver on his promise to unite and rebuild Kaase in peace.
The King charged chiefs in the region to emulate the Kaasehene and not only enrich themselves by the sale of stool lands.
He charged the Queen mother of Kaase and Kaase Stool elders to support their chief in the initiation and implementation of projects while ensuring that stool lands are managed properly for the benefit of the people.
Nana Mensah Bonsu described Otumfuo as his source of inspiration and promised to do more for the people of Kaase and Asanteman in general.
The nomination, installation and swearing-in Nana Mensah Bonsu, the 54-year-old former Electrical Engineer of AG Timbers in 2013 brought an end to dispute since 2008 to succeed the late Kaasehene, Nana Owusu Yaw Ababio.
Nana Mensah Bonsu has since ascending the Kaase stool prosecuted a development agenda to transform the community, which the Asantehene says is worthy of emulation by other chiefs in the Ashanti Kingdom.
On ascending the stool, the Kaasehene made the construction of a modern palace to befit the status of the community as an industrial area where most of the industries are located his priority.
The Kaasehene has also promoted education by funding the rehabilitation of local schools to expand facilities.
He has rehabilitated classrooms of the local primary school from his own resources to avoid the shift system there.
The construction of two boreholes is on going to address the water needs of the community.
The chief has also provided two water closet facilities for the local primary and Junior High schools.
