Opinion leader calls for solution to water problem

Kasoa (C/R), Nov. 29, GNA - An opinion leader at Kasoa, Alhaji Habibu Adramani, has emphasised the need for government to expedite action on plans to resolve the long-standing acute water problem confronting residents of the fast-developing commercial town.

Alhaji Adramani also appealed to the government to reconsider its decision not to allow people in the Awutu-Senya constituency numbering more than 100,000 to break away from the Awutu-Effutu-Senya and have their own district.

Addressing about 500 Muslims at Kasoa to round off this year's Eid-Ul-Fitr, Alhaji Adramani said Kasoa has suffered for far too long as far as the provision of good drinking water was concerned, adding that it is about time this serious social predicament is solved once and for all.

According to the opinion leader, the population of Kasoa keeps on increasing almost and the problem should be speedily solved to safeguard the good health of the people.

This is because any outbreak of waterborne epidemic would affect the state as well and not the inhabitants of the community alone.

On the creation of a separate administrative district for people in the Awutu-Senya constituency, which has two traditional areas, Alhaji Adramani hoped the creation of separate district would make the administration of the area, particularly Kasoa, Senya-Beraku, Awutu-Beraku and Bawjiase easy.

He advised the youth in the area to foster closer collaboration with their chiefs, opinion and community leaders, and family heads to initiate and implement development projects to face-lift their towns and villages.

Alhaji Adramani made it clear that the country's future rests on their shoulders and this places enormous responsibility on them.
