Oguaaman Union to award bursaries

Accra, July 27, GNA - The Oguaaman Union, a grouping of Cape Coast citizens living in Accra, is instituting bursary awards to brilliant students back in the Cape Coast Municipality to further their education. Nana Sam Brew Butler, General Secretary of the Accra-Tema branch of the Union, said the bursary would not only enable the beneficiaries to attain academic heights, but it would also help them to take their rightful place in society.

Nana Butler said in collaboration with Play Soccer Ghana, an NGO, whose focus is on development of children soccer, the union would train 200 kids in the municipality to develop their mental and physical faculties.

He said the scheme would also inculcate leadership qualities in the children in order to effectively become the nation's greatest assets and future leaders.

Nana Butler said the Butler Family had donated four computers estimated at 30 million cedis to the Oguaaman Union Secretariat to make children computer literate.
