Oguaa Poly TESCON commends POTAG

Cape Coast, Oct 9, GNA - The Cape Coast Polytechnic Branch of the Tertiary Education Students Confederacy (TESCON) of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Thursday commended the Polytechnic Teachers Association of Ghana (POTAG) for the patience it exhibited during negotiations with the government over improvement in salary levels.

The students' body said the amicable resolution of the matter was a major breakthrough and a huge relief for a smooth, unimpeded academic work on the various polytechnic campuses.

A statement signed by Mr Emmanuel Jackson, the branch president, Of TESCON commended the government for displaying a high sense of "maturity and sensitivity" in the matter.

It echoed the statement of the chairman of the Accra polytechnic branch of POTAG, Mr Akwasi Arhin, that the fact that the government has been able to honour its promise to approve new salaries was an indication that it had polytechnic education at heart.
