Nai Awushie Tetteh, the Overlord of Odukpong Ofaakor in the Awutu Senya East municipality in the Central Region has placed a one-day ban on business all activity in Kasoa and its environs.

The ban takes effect on Saturday, 28 July 2018, and meant to be used to mourn the death of his wife Comfort Sabah Abbew.

Initially, the ban was meant to last for three days but later reduced to a day after several consultations. A fine will be imposed on anyone who flouts the ban.

In an interview with Class91.3FM’s Central Regional correspondent, Calvis Tetteh, some aggrieved market women in Kasoa market expressed outrage at the ban, saying it will affect their business.

Some critics argued that the chief’s late wife was not a native of Odukpong Ofaakor but from Senya Bereku, so the ban was needless.
