On Friday, September 26, 2025, the Municipal Chief Executive for Obuasi East Municipal Assembly, William Kofi Adzowu, embarked on a working visit to some business establishments within the municipality to assess their operations and discuss avenues for collaborative growth.
The visit which formed part of the MCE’s broader agenda to build a strong private – public partnership focused at stimulating the local economy, creating jobs, and addressing challenges faced by businesses within the municipality. The MCE and his delegation visited a cross-section of industries, including Aduroye Herbal Limited and KESMENS enterprise.
At Aduroye Herbal, the producers of Obuasi Bitters, Obuasi 4-4-2 ginger liquor, gringo bitters and other products, the MCE toured their processing plant and commended the management for their role in adding value to local herbal produce. He discussed some challenges related to raw material supply chain and assured the company of the assembly’s support in facilitating better linkages with local farmers.

At KESMENS enterprise who are into food processing products like kesmeans tom brown, gari mix, brown sugar, powdered pepper and other products. The MCE pledged to look into road infrastructure, improvement around their production area to facilitate smoot transportation and also speak with some Senior High schools to buy some of their products to feed the students.
Adzowu emphasised the importance of sustainable practice of value addition “my administration is committed to supporting businesses that not only generate revenue but also create employment and prioritize sustainable environmental management,” the MCE added.
In an interview after the tour, William Kofi Adzowu expressed his satisfaction with the findings. He stated that the purpose of the visit was to listen, not just inspect.
“We have gained crucial insights directly from the business owners. The Municipal Assembly will now work diligently to create a more enabling environment for businesses to thrive, which is the bedrock for job creation and development in our municipality,” he said.
He added that he will ensure these companies benefit from the 24 – hour economy policy by the government. This will enable them to employ more workers and also create a conducive environment.
The owners of these companies expressed their appreciation to the MCE and his team for the visit. At Aduroye Herbal Dr Amo Collins the CEO, stated “we are truly appreciative that the Municipal Chief Executive has taken the time out of his busy schedule to come and witness how our operation firsthand.”
“This level of engagement from the Municipal Assembly is encouraging and gives us confidence that our concern will be heard at the highest level,” Dr Amo Collins added.

The manager for KESMEANS Enterprise, Kingsley Asare, lauded the Municipal Chief Executive for his visit, stating that “this visit is not the usual cycle of formal letters and meetings. Having the MCE on our factory floor allows him to understand our specific needs in our operation. We are very thankful for this direct engagement.”
He also made an appeal to the MCE for government’s support in terms of funding and also create a stable economy for their operations.
William Kofi Adzowu assured that the concern raised, particularly regarding regulatory processes, road network and access to funding would be given urgent attention by the Assembly.
The Municipal Chief Executive was accompanied by the Municipal Coordinating Director Richard Blevi, and other staff of the Assembly.
