O.A buses commence Obuasi-Accra operations

The management of O and A transport has commenced bus service operations from the Obuasi municipality to the heart of the country's capital, Accra. O. A's services which have been welcomed by the wider populace is the second by bus operators in the municipality following an earlier aborted service by the state trans! port cooperation (S.T.C). Most travelers failed to patronize the S.T.C. services due to the exorbitant fares imposed on travelers. Managing director of O A services Bright Owusu Agyemang told newsmen that his outfit is offering a 24-hour service for commuters of Obuasi and Accra throughout the year. He said individuals, groups and institutions who wish to hire comfortable air conditioned buses to any destination of their choice will also be served.

He assured the public that passengers can rely on O.A. for a comfortable and safe travel daily.

Currently, the first buses to and from Accra take off by 6am daily whiles the second leaves by mid-day. Advance tickets for travelers of Mankesim! and Aflao also exist. The managing director expressed his sincerest thanks to the municipal chief executive Joseph Kojo Boampong for the space provided behind the total filling station at Obuasi central. He has therefore requested that travelers in the Obuasi municipality patronize their services to sustain it. Tickets for travelers to and from Accra currently sell at ?45,000 per passenger amounting to ?90,000 for one travel cycle.
