Nkwanta South MP fears visiting constituency

The Member of Parliament for Nkwanta South Constituency, Gershon Kofi Bediako Gbediame, says he is afraid visiting his constituency, following Monday’s killing of the Nkwanta South District Chief Executive (DCE).

Mr Gbediame said there is no known cause behind the shooting of Peter Kenyenso, and he may fall a victim to the same perpetrators if he visits the town immediately.

He made these known on Monday, November 3 while commenting on the killing of Mr Kenyenso.

The late DCE was shot dead by an unidentified man near his official residence Monday evening.

Security has been beefed up in the District as police launch immediate investigations into the incident.

Speaking on TV3’s News @10, Mr Gbediame expressed shock at the murder of the DCE, claiming they did not see it coming as there has been no outstanding antagonism involving the DCE.

He also indicated that the District has achieved a long-standing peace over the past few years.

The Special Weapon and Tactical (SWAT) Unit of the Ghana Police Service has since been deployed to the district to provide security.
