Nine people have been arrested by the Kwesimintsim Police Command following Wednesday’s violent clash between two feuding factions in the Apremudo community.

The suspects have been identified as Kofi Arhin aged 21, Edward Johnson 21, Evans Amoah 30, and Solomon Wuru 50. The rest are Jona Odum 25, Joseph Essien 43, John Baidoo 47, David Osei Yalley 24, and John Banasco 35

A reliable source at the Apremudo community told Empire News’ Emmauel Ohene -Gyan that it all started when a faction believed to be supporters of the Divisional Chief of the town Nana Egya Kwamina XI who were drumming amidst dancing and singing to signify the commencement of their Kundum festival but another faction believed to be supporters of the Queen of the town Nana Mozu VII attacked the supporters of the Chief and poured a substance believed to be acid on them.

In the process, about fourteen (14) people including women and children sustained various degrees of injury and were sent to the Kwesimintsim hospital and the rest to the 2BN clinic as well.

The other aggrieved supporters of Nana Egya Kwamina proceeded to the house of one John Nat Panyin who is alleged to have led the attack and set the house ablaze but the said assailants managed to escape from the inferno.
