New Juaben Assembly to embark on decongestion

Koforidua, Jan. 12, GNA-The New Juaben Municipal Assembly would soon evict all traders who have taken over walkways

and public space in the Municipality.

The Municipal Chief Executive, Mr Alex Asamoah, disclosed this to the GNA in Koforidua on Thursday.

He said the traders had been warned on countless occasions not to sell on the streets but had ignored the advice.

Mr Asamoah indicated that the Assembly was not against people trading to earn a living but the right thing must be done

since selling on the pavements and on the road side posed threats to other road users.

The MCE recalled that in 2011, a similar exercise took place to decongest the central parts of Koforidua but to no avail and urged

the media to help the Assembly in its bid to decongest the Municipality and ensure discipline.<'
