New Bishop for Winneba Methodist Church

Winneba, Oct 8, GNA -The Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church, Most Rev. Dr. Robert Aboagye Mensah on Sunday called on Christians to be true servants of God.

He said every true servant of God must seek Him because the closer "we are to God the better we can serve him". Bishop Aboagye Mensah made the call in a sermon he delivered at an induction service for Right Rev. Joseph Ghanney as the new bishop of the Winneba Ebenezer Methodist Cathedral at Winneba.

Right Rev. Ghanney replaced Bishop Jeremiah Morrison who is on transfer to the Eastern Region after six years' stay in Winneba. Bishop Aboagye Mensah said those who waited upon the Lord shall renew their strength and therefore urged Christians to always depend upon Him instead of depending upon wealth, personalities and positions. He advised members of the church to continue to contribute their quota towards the growth of the Methodist Church.

Rev. Ghanney called for unity and cooperation among members of the Cathedral to ensure its growth.
