Network of NGOs to support School Feeding programme

Accra, June 16, GNA - The Network of Associations of Registered NGOs in Ghana on Monday congratulated Mr Michael Nsowah on his appointment as the newly National Coordinator of the School Feeding Programme.

"We are confident and believe that with your rich experience as a past Director-General of Ghana Education Service, you will be a listening administrator, operate an open administration, yield to positive suggestions and ideas that will make the School Feeding Programme better than you have come to meet it," a statement signed by Mr Kofi Lucas, National President of the Network said. It said as a Network, which sought to introduce Regenerative Health and Nutrition Programme in all schools in the country to supplement school feeding programme, it would offer its support to the programme Secretariat to achieve its goals. The statement said Network would soon set up Regenerative Health and Nutrition farms and gardens centres to meet the demand of the public after intensive community and public sensitization. "Meanwhile, the Network in collaboration with its member Associations, intend to introduce school feeding programmes in the private schools.

"It will also work to ensure the sustainability of the School Feeding Programme and provide nutritious and balanced diet to our children and encourage the consumption of local agricultural produce", the statement said.
