National Service personnel complain about frustration

Personnel of the National Service Scheme has been asked by commercial banks to open an account with them before their monthly allowances could be paid to them.

According to the banks, it is easy to pay the allowances through opened accounts.

However, the Acting Executive Director of the National Service Scheme, Mr Michael Kpessa-Whyte said on Monday in Accra that there is no such agreement between the scheme and the banks.

He said, opening an account with a bank should be the free will of the personnel.

Miss Theresa Aidoo, a service person complaint about the stress she had to go through to Ghana News Agency since the personnel were asked to open e-zwich accounts.

According to Edna Quansah, another person the banks are sapping their just for an allowance they have worked for.
