Nabdams resident in Bolga meet to discuss development.

Bolgatanga, Aug. 27, GNA - Nabdam constituents living in Bolgatanga have met to discuss modalities involved in the creation of the Nabdam-Talensi District.

The discussion centered on their contributions towards ensuring that the district promised them by the President, John Agyekum Kufour, during his maiden working visit to the Upper East Region gets a smooth take-off.

Addressing them, the director of National Service Scheme, Mr Boniface Gambila, reminded the people of their stake in the socio-economic development of the area and said, "living outside the constituency does not debar you from contributing towards its development".

He noted that the exercise of individual's franchise is a pre-requisite for the political growth of the area, and said most of the people were habitual travellers, who rarely stayed at home to see to the effective development of the area.

He mentioned education, health, agriculture and human resource development in the area as key sectors that the people ought to commit material resources to develop, and said government was committed to the development of the area and would do everything in its power to fulfil the promise made by the President.

The director therefore, called on the people to show their commitment and preparedness for the district by registering to vote in the constituency.

Mr Gambila, who is a native of the area told people that voting is the only legitimate right that an individual has for determining the fate of any sitting government, adding that if most of them voted outside the constituency it goes to affect the data for the development of the area.

The people also discussed their welfare and how to quickly mobilise to support one another in times of need and used the occasion to fraternise.
