Social Graduation Youth Chigabatia empowers youth

Chuchuliga (UE), April 7, GNA - The Upper East Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Mrs. Agnes Asangalisah Chigabatia, has presented items worth GHC600.00 to the Saint Agnes Vocational Training Institute at Chuchuliga in the Upper East Region. The items include sewing machines, plastic bowls and money for self establishment. Presenting the items at the fifth graduation of the institute, Mrs. Chigabatia said the institution, her brainchild, was part of her contribution to the development of young ladies in the area. She said many of the young ladies in the area, for lack of jobs, usually migrate to the urban areas to engage in menial jobs and sometimes get involved in social vices that put them in trouble; therefore there was the need to empower them to stay home and serve their communities. Mrs. Chigabatia said her vision for founding the institute was to extend the vocational facility to all the major towns of the Builsa north constituency which include Sandema, Wiaga Kadema and Siniensi. She urged the graduates to make good use of the skills they acquired from their training, stressing that without perseverance there was no way they were going to develop or make good use of the skills they had acquired. The Builsa North Constituency NPP Chairman, Mr. David Afoko noted that the youth was very instrumental to the development of the country, and that there was the need to give attention to them. He stressed on the need for parents to support the development of their wards, adding that, "if parents are to monitor the life styles of their children it would help in the children's development". 7 April 10
