NLA Soccer-Cash growing stronger- Director

Mr Shine Gbologa, Director of Sales at the National Lottery Authority (NLA), on Thursday said the Soccer-Cash, which is a pool-based game for football lovers, is still growing stronger, as many people continue to play.

He said even though the major premier leagues across the world had come to a close, the game is being played every week as participants are given the opportunity to predict other matches such as international friendlies, FIFA competitions and other league matches across the African continent.

Mr Gbologa said this in an interview with the Ghana News Agency during the 18th draw of the Soccer-Cash game in Accra, which saw 87 people winning the 10/12 match fixture and eight people also winning the 11/12 match fixture.

He said the continuous growth of the game’s jackpot is an indication that many people are still playing, despite the fact that the major premier leagues in Europe which have majority followers have come to a close.

“Currently, we have a jackpot of GH¢ 38,457.49, an indication that the game is being played by many Ghanaians and I will urge the public to continue playing, to be able to win the jackpot,” he said.

With the soccer-cash game, a minimum of 12 fixtures are chosen from selected football matches including the local Ghanaian league, for players to predict the outcome weekly.

It, therefore, involves the prediction of the Home team or Away team winning or the match ending in a draw for each of the 12 matches available for the week.

Mr Gbologa explained that 45 per cent of the pool would go to players who got 10 out of the 12 match fixture predictions correct, 20 per cent to the players who got 11 out of 12 match fixture predictions right and 35 per cent of the pool would go to players who got all 12 match fixture predictions correct.

He said a player needed GH¢ 1.00 to play the soccer-cash game, which is available at all NLA retailer outlets while tickets could also be purchased in multiples.

“With the numerous challenges facing the country, playing Soccer-Cash means contributing to national development and I will urge all those who are 18 years and above to play,” he said.

Draws for the soccer-cash are held every Thursday after all fixtures had been played.
