An NGO, Media Response will from September 19 to 21, embark on a 3-day training workshop for some journalists on investigative journalism on free movement and migration in Accra.

The training will build the capacities of over thirty frontline journalists in Accra to conduct investigative journalism on free movement and migration and enhance their ability to disseminate qualitative information and educate the public on the ECOWAS Protocol on Free Movement of Persons and Migrants’ Rights.

The training is spearheaded by Media Response as the implementing organization of the FMM West Africa Project in Ghana in association with the West Africa Bureau of the International Organization for Migration (IOM, Abuja)

The FMM West Africa Free Movement and Migration Project falls within the framework of the ‘Support to Free Movement of Persons and Migration in West Africa’ Project which is jointly funded by the ECOWAS Commission and the European Union and implemented in Ghana by Media Response.

Other regions to benefit from the training workshops on Investigative Journalism on Free Movement and Migration are the Western, Ashanti and Northern regions.

The Executive Director of Media Response, Mr. Samuel Dodoo says the training will not only build the capacities of journalists to conduct investigative journalism on free movement and migration but enhance their ability to disseminate qualitative information and educate the public on the ECOWAS Protocol on Free Movement of Persons and Migrants’ Rights.
