NGO presents items to orphans

Kojo Betiako (Ash), Dec. 14, GNA - Redeem Africa Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) based in Kumasi has presented a number of items valued at 49.5 million cedis to 101 orphans at a ceremony held at Kojo Betiako in the Ahafo-Ano North District on Wednesday.

Each of the beneficiaries selected from ten communities in the Anyinasuso and Kojo Betiako Sub-Districts was given stationery items, footwear, school bag, treated mosquito net and school uniform. Speaking at the ceremony, the Executive Director of the Foundation, Mr. Elis Bobie Ansah advised parents to cherish their children as the most important valuables on earth and use their resources to give them better education.

He advised children to be obedient to their parents, teachers and the elderly in society and ensure discipline in whatever they do to avoid destroying themselves before they reach maturity. The District Director of Health Services, Mrs. Elizabeth Danso Adentwi said HIV/AIDS is real and advised people who continue to attribute the cause of this pandemic to spiritual spell to live decent lives.

On behalf of her colleagues, Miss Elizabeth Pokuaa of Abonsuaso Primary School thanked the Foundation for their care and support and prayed that they continue to give them the needed support. The 101 orphans were selected from Alhassakrom, Mmoframfadwene, Meredane, Oldmankrom, Anyinasuso, Kojo Betiako, Suponso, Nyanmeadom, Abonsuaso and Danyame.
