NGO donates to two Jomoro communities

Dan Borsor Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) has given two communities in the Jomoro District, a total of GH¢ 3,500.00 to support their development projects.

The communities are Atwebanso and Adusuazo both near Half-Assini.

Mr Bogolo Anvo, Special Aid to Mr Borsor, made the presentation on his behalf at separate ceremonies at Adusuazo and Atwebanso.

Atwebanso received GH¢ 1,500.00 towards the construction of a new chief's palace and market while GH¢ 2,000.00 went to the people of Adusuazo to support their Information Communication Technology and teacher's complex.

Mr Anvo said the gesture was in response to appeals made by the two communities to Mr Borsor.

Mr Thomas Guane, an Elder of Adusuazo and Teacher Elleah from Atwebanso received the amount on behalf of their communities respectively and thanked Mr Borsor for the kind gesture.

Mr Borsor born at Takinta in the Jomoro District and his NGO, based in Accra, promotes educational activities in the District.

The NGO has since 2005 been offering scholarships to brilliant but needy students from the area to further their education in second cycle and tertiary institutions.

It has also been organizing quiz competition for basic schools in the District as part of measures to promote quality education in the area.

In recognition of his efforts, Mr Borsor a philanthropist was in October last year honoured by the Western Nzema Traditional Council (WNTC) for promoting education in the area.
