NGO donates to school

Dormaa-Ahenkro (B/A), Oct 11, GNA- Mr Dorian Leatham, Chief Executive of London Borough Hillingdom in the United Kingdom, has donated 1000 pounds sterling (15 million cedis) for the construction of a three-storey girls' dormitory block for the Secondary School at Dormaa Ahenkro.

Barima Okogyeatuo Kwame Agyeman, Adontehene of Dormaa Traditional Area, made the donation on behalf of Osagyefo Oseedeeye Agyeman-Badu 11, Omanhene of the Traditional Area in response to an appeal made by the school about two years ago.

Mr. Alex Baah-Bofah, Headmaster of the school made the appeal when Mr. Leatham visited Ghana at the invitation of the Omanhene for the celebration of the Kwafie Festival of the people in the area. Mr Baah-Bofah who received the money thanked the donor for the gesture.

The girls' dormitory is estimated at more than 500 million cedis and is financed by the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) and individuals. The Headmaster commended Osagyefo Agyeman-Badu for his immense contribution towards the development of the school and the traditional area as a whole.

Mr. Chou-En-Lai Paul Ankamah, chairman of the school's PTA appealed to the old students association of the school to support the development of their alma mater.
