NGO calls for support for underprivileged children

Mrs Dame Lavinia Enim, Founder of Little Angel Trust, a charitable organisation has called for public support for underprivileged children in the society to improve their lives.

She said there is the need for all and sundry to reach out to children who are terminally ill to assure them of a better tomorrow stressing: “A strong nation relies on healthy children.”

The Founder made the call on Tuesday when she donated assorted items to the Accra Psychiatric Hospital, Children's unit as a sign of affection to inmates.

Mrs Enim said she is motivated to expand her hands to needy children in hospitals due to her passion and plight especially for cancer children.

She said since the establishment of the organisation, it has been organising health walk from Kwame Nkrumah Circle to Korle-Bu Hospital Children’s Block.

She said the NGO would sustain its support for the Hospital and appealed to other organisations to also assist the facility.

Mrs Enim said the organisation had adopted and renovated the third floor of Children's Oncology Cancer Unit of Korle-Bu Hospital.

Mrs Enim presented medal to Mrs Janet Fakye, Retired Principal Officer of Accra Psychiatric Hospital for her immense contribution to the plight of less privilege children.

Ms Margaret Owusu Principal Nursing Officer at the Accra Psychiatric Hospital, thanked the NGO for the donation, and appealed to the public to assist in responding to the needs of children.
