NGO appeals to youth to stop illegal migration

Nkoranza (B/A), May 29, GNA - The Rev Frank Peprah Twumasi, Chief Executive Officer of Scholar In-Transit, a non-governmental organisation, has appealed to the government to help the youth to engage in income-generating ventures to save them from illegal migration. He said the youth who undertake illegal migration spent between GHC 500 and GHC 1000 which, with a little support from the government, they could use to establish their own businesses. Rev. Twumasi said when he addressed members of Sweet Home Campaigners, an association of Nkoranza youth repatriated from abroad, at the election of executive members. "Try as much as possible to share your experiences with your friends who intend travelling abroad without relevant documents to deter them from engaging in the suicidal journey," he said. The association elected Mr. Jamel Mohammed as president, Mr Kwaku Yeboah, vice president, Mr. Louis Adjei Arthur, secretary, as well as Mr Frank Kudom and Mr Ernest Kwadwo Afrifa as treasurer and organizer respectively.
