NFED gives incentive packages to 43 facilitators

Nkawie (Ash), Feb 17, GNA - The Atwima-Nwabiagya district secretariat of the Non-Formal Education Division (NFED) of the Ministry of Education and Sports on Thursday presented incentive packages to 43 facilitators for their hard work and dedication at a ceremony at Nkawie. The packages included radio cassette recorders and electric sewing machines.

Mr Joseph Adu-Gyamfi, District Co-ordinator of the NFED who performed the ceremony said even though the work of the facilitators was a sacrificial one, the government was doing everything possible to take care of their welfare.

In spite of government's efforts, he said awareness creation in the district was too low, adding that people even question the continued existence of the NFED in the system due to its little impact. Mr Adu-Gyamfi appealed to the district assembly to offer the division the necessary logistical support to facilitate the secretariat's monitoring programmes. He commended the facilitators for their hard work and urged them to work harder to ensure that more learners acquire reading and writing habits.

Mr Benito Owusu-Bio, Member of Parliament (MP) for Atwima-Nwabiagya, personally donated a bundle of roofing sheets valued at 1.2 million cedis to Seth Yatofo of Asuofua for emerging the best facilitator in the district.
