'NDC Gov't did not neglect Mfantsiman district'- Former DCE

Takoradi, Aug. 8, GNA- Mr Kuntu Blankson, former District Chief Executive (DCE) for Mfantiman, has described reports that the district did not benefit from development programmes under the government of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as "untrue and baseless".

He said 52 of the 54 communities in the area were provided with electricity and other infrastructure to boost the socio-economic activities of the people in that era.

Mr Blankson was reacting to a GNA story in a national daily in which Mr Solomon Ishmael Quansah, Chairman of the Ekumfiman Movement, accused the NDC of not doing anything to improve the lives of the people in the area.

"The performance of the NDC in the development of Mfantsiman and especially Ekumfi area is there for all who have eyes to see", the former DCE told the GNA at Takoradi on Thursday.

He said it was during the NDC era that the Esuehyia clinic, which deteriorated, was re-roofed and provided with potable water and a sewerage system.

Other communities in the Ekumfi Constituency that benefited from social amenities were Ebiram, Abor, Esuehyia, Ekumfi Atabanadze and Atakwa, the former DCE said and advised opponents of the NDC to be honest and realistic in their utterances.
