NCCE launches campaign on replacement of voters register

Adukrom-Akim (E/R), Mar. 2, GNA- The East Akim District office of the National Commission on Civic Education (NCCE) has launched a ten-day public education campaign on the replacement of the voters register in 105 communities at Adukrom-Akim on Monday.

The District Director of the NCCE, Mr Franklin M.K. Boafo urged all eligible persons, except those under 18 years and aliens to ensure that they register during the exercise between March 16 and 29.

He explained that the inclusion of photos of voters on both the identification (ID) cards and the register would ensure the elimination of impersonation and multiple voting during elections.

A Senior Field Officer of the Commission, Mr Razak Bioni, who spoke on registration offences, warned the political parties and individuals against encouraging unqualified persons to register since those caught would be prosecuted.
