Muslim chief attacks indecent dressing by Muslim girls

Ho, Nov 16, GNA - Alhaji Hamza Danjuma, the Volta Regional Chief Imam, on Tuesday expressed worry about indecent dressing among Muslim girls and said he wondered whether these girls had parents. Addressing Eid-ul-Adha prayers at Ho, he said some Muslim girls dressed outrageously in the name of fashion and that it appeared some parents were losing control of their children.

He said in some cases parents openly encouraged their girls to pander to the whims of men for financial gains. Alhaji Danjuma said as a result some Moslem women were into prostitution.

"I am ashamed, parents must be ashamed that these children come from their houses," the Chief Imam exclaimed. He said Muslem parents would be held for the dereliction their responsibilities towards their children. Alhaji Danjuma urged Moslems to emulate the example of Abraham when he obediently sought to sacrifice his son on the command of Allah by showing humility and working conscientiously in whatever field they found themselves. Mr Joseph Amenowode, the Volta Regional Minister, expressed worry about the problems of teenage pregnancies, truancy and criminality facing the youth
