Moslem fasting should be fulfilling and pleasing to Allah

Tema, Nov. 25, GNA - Maulvi Aziz-Ur-Rahman, Greater Accra Regional Missionary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission said on Tuesday that the 30-day fasting period should help Moslems to please Allah by fulfilling all his commandments.

Leading Ahmadiyya Muslims in an open door prayer at the mission in Tema, Maulvi Rahman said those rights belonged to the people, and it was only when the nation cherishes them that they could fulfil the wishes of Allah.

"This is the period to renew our sincerity to our government and the nation, for the love of our country should be part of our faith to Allah."

Maulvi Rahman said the breaking of the fast should tell Muslims that they had made a lot of sacrifices "and it is our hope and belief that God has accepted them."

"Through the sacrifices that were made during the 30 days of fasting, we have been able to please our Allah," he said, adding that, "that is why we have put on our best clothes, and will eat our best meals, because of the notion that Allah is pleased with the doings of his children."
