More register for Mutual Health Insurance Scheme in Ho

Ho, Dec 30, GNA - About 35,000 people from both the formal and informal sectors have, since May, registered with the Ho Municipal Mutual Health Insurance Secretariat to participate in the National Health Insurance Scheme in the Ho Municipal area.

Mr Mawuko Tsigbe, the Municipal Public Relations Officer of the scheme, told the GNA on Thursday that 30 registered members from the informal sector have so far paid their premiums for one year.

He said the initial hesitation by people in the municipal area towards the scheme that they considered to be "too good to believe" was giving way to total acceptance. Mr Tsigbe however said despite the positive response, the secretariat would continue to organise workshops to educate public sector workers at the ministries, departments and agencies as well as opinion leaders in communities and places of worship.
