Modern Star School donates books to Adubiliyili basic School

Modern Star Integrated School in Partnership with its donors and the Modern Star Integrated School Literacy club has donated over 100 books to the Adubiliyili Primary School in the Tamale Metropolis of the Northern region.

The books are part of supplementary readers received from its donors, based in the United Kingdom.

The donation forms part of Modern Starr Integrated School initiative to support vulnerable schools and communities to ensure that effective teaching and learning is not only placed at the doorsteps of the privileged in the society but the less privileged and needy.

The books which includes mathematics, geography/social studies, fictions, French, English language as well as other literature to improve literacy among pupils in the Adubiliyili basic school.

Like most school pupils in Peri-urban communities in Ghana, pupils in the Adubiliyili Primary school do not have access to libraries, and this unfortunate situation hinder their ability to get reading materials in the school or communities/homes to read.

In some instances, reading material in the school is woefully inadequate to stimulate the desire of children to read or learn more.

Consequently, the initiative by Modern Starr integrated School will encourage the pupils to cultivate the habit of reading to help improve their literacy levels.

Administrator of Modern Starr Integrated School, Patience Kpiniong, handing over the books to the authorities of the Adubiliyi Primary school, said they were inspired by the foundation principle of the school, thus to assist the deprived and needy persons in society.

She however indicated possibility of expanding the scope of the donation to other deprived schools within the Northern region in as much as their partners are given them more books.

The Head Teacher of the Adubiliyili Primary School, Mr. Abdul Moomin commended Modern Star Integrated School for the kind gesture and promised to use the books for the intended purpose. He said the books will go a long way to enhance teaching and learning as well as improve upon the literacy of pupils in the school.

Speaking on behalf of the chief of Adubiliyili, Yapalsi-Wulana, Simon Karim Adam also eulogized Modern Star Integrated School for the donation and expressed the hope that the donation marks the beginning of an everlasting relationship between the community and modern star school.

He called for more of such support from other benevolent institutions and organization to help produce better future leaders for the country.

Yapalsi-Wulana Simon Karim therefore appealed to authorities of Modern Star Integrated School to endeavor to enroll some of the products of the Adubiliyili Primary School to its Junior High School and Senior High School upon their completion at the basic level in the community.

Modern Star Integrated School has been in operation over 10 years now in the Tamale Metropolis of Northern Region, providing quality education to especially the marginalized and needy in society from Nursery to the Senior High Education level.

The school runs as a charitable organization where at least 50 percent of students are usually brilliant but needy and the rest are children with able parents.

The school aims at creating an enabling environment by providing quality technical/secondary education to the youth who are marginalized in society especially the girl-child to equip them with meaningful and sustainable skills for the job market and further studies.
