Minister presents bags of cement towards school projects

Obo-Kwahu (E/R), Jan. 30, GNA - The Eastern Regional Minister, Mr Kwadwo Afram-Asiedu has presented 100 bags of cement valued at GH=A2900 towards the construction of a storey block of 12 classrooms, offices and stores for the Presbyterian Primary "A" and "B" schools at Obo. The presentation followed an appeal made by the community at a fund raising harvest in Accra towards the project.

The community intends to hand over the existing block to the Presbyterian University College (PUC) for the establishment of a computer engineering faculty of the University in the town. Presenting the cement, Mr Affram Asiedu said he would continue to donate towards the projects to ensure its early completion. He advised the children in the town to study hard and further their education to a higher level.

Receiving the cement on behalf of the community, the Chief of Obo, Nana Yeboah Afari Buagyan II, thanked the Minister for the assistance. Nana Buagyan commended the Kwahu West District Assembly for donating 10 packets of roofing sheets towards the project, adding that the Kwahu South District Assembly had also promised to donate 100 bags of cement.

Mr Afram Asiedu later paid courtesy call on the chiefs at Obomeng, Bepong and Asakraka and also inspected construction works on a six-kilometre Nkawkaw Obomeng road.
