The Minister of State for Climate Change and Sustainability, Issifu Seidu, has paid a working visit to Sultan Abdulrahman Al-Dhakel, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Ghana.
The visit aimed to strengthen diplomatic ties and explore strategic areas of collaboration between Ghana and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the fields of climate change and sustainable development.
It also served to reaffirm Ghana’s commitment to advancing bilateral cooperation in addressing critical climate challenges, including droughts, flooding, and environmental degradation.
During the discussions, both parties deliberated on potential partnerships in key areas such as renewable energy, clean cooking solutions for rural communities, climate-resilient agriculture, public health, and support for Ghana’s Climate Change and Sustainability Hub.
The meeting also touched on technical, logistical, and financial assistance from the Kingdom to support the work of the ministerial office.
A notable highlight of the engagement was the shared interest in convening a joint Climate Change and Sustainability Summit in Ghana, in partnership with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The minister expressed profound appreciation for the warm reception and reaffirmed Ghana’s readiness to collaborate closely with Saudi Arabia in pursuit of a just and sustainable future.
