Mida To Construct Dorfor-Ayimagonu Road

MP Tells Constituents
Member of Parliament for North Tongu constituency, Mr Charles Hodogbey has reassured the Chiefs, Elders and People of Dorfor-Ayimagonu in the Volta Region that some funding has been sourced from the Millennium Development Authority (MiDA) to construct The Dorfor-Ayimagonu road network which links to Mafi-Adidome.
The road has been in a very bad state over years and it’s yet to see some light of road construction in the constituency. He promised his people that by next year in January 2012, road works will commence on the abandoned road.
The legislature made this known at the 15th annual Dorfor-Ayimagonu festival, which brought citizens, MPs, chiefs and opinion leaders together to trace the history of the people and aims at uniting and promoting development.
The MP also announced that government will continue constructing school classroom blocks in all the communities in the constituency to eliminate all schools under trees which affects academic performance due to inadequate infrastructures and also improve on quality teaching and learning.
He added that government will extend with its responsibility by providing developmental projects in all districts of the country such as good roads, schools, and hospitals, and mentioned that the construction of the Dorfor road has already been awarded for construction work to begin soon in January, which all feasibility studies have been carried.
He entreated the citizens both in and outside the community Of Dorfor to assist in the development of the area. He said government alone could not develop the area, saying that it behoved the well-to-do citizens of the area to support the development agenda of the town.
Touching on education, Mr Hodogbey entreated parents to invest in their children's education instead of spending lavishly on funerals and other social gatherings.
He said education is an important tool to unlocking the potential of the children in the area, saying these potentials was therefore needed to facilitate the development of the area.
Mr Hodogbey announced that plans were far advanced to improve the road infrastructure in the area, stressing that the work on the Mafi-Adidome, Dorfor Adidome and Juapong road stating that the roads are very important projects which he sought to construct in the town.
He reiterated that government under the Rural Electrification Project will ensure that all communities in the district are grid onto the national electrification project.
He added that a water plant will be constructed to serve all surrounding communities in the constituency to bring relief to the people.
He advised the people to remain united, stressing that, “It is only through unity that you can achieve total development”.
As the 2012, election draws near he cautioned the people to refrain from any electoral violence and also asked them to give another mandate to the NDC government and would work assiduously to redeem the confidence reposed in the party to continue the better Ghana it promised.
Togbe Ananse Titriku also appealed to government to revamp the Juapong Textiles Industry to bring job and economic empowerment to the youth of Juapong who are jobless.
This year's festival was aimed at raising funds to embark on developmental projects in Dorfor-Ayimagonu.
