Mfantsipim Old Boys elect new executives

The newly elected members of the National Executive Committee of the Mfantsipim Old Boys Association (MOBA) will formally be inducted into office on Sunday July 26 at the Calvary Methodist Church in Adabraka, Accra.

The Induction, which will be under the auspices of the Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church of Ghana, The Most Rev Emmanuel Asante, will attract Old boys, their spouses and friends of Mfantsipim.

A statement issued by the MOBA Secretariat and copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) said the National Executives were elected in May this year by the MOBA National Council made up of two representatives each from all year groups.

The new National Executives are: Ebusuapanyin, Captain Paul Forjoe, Vice-President, Emmanuel Kotey Hammond, Secretary, Kofi Bentum Coleman, Vice-Secretary, and James Morgan, Treasurer.

The rest are Parry Aboagye, Vice Treasurer, Kofi Amaniampong, National Organizer, Charles Cobbina, Vice-National Organizer, Kwesi Wilson, Member and Kwame Gyasi Member.

Speaking to the media ahead of the induction, the Ebusuapanyin-elect, Captain Paul Forjoe said the new executives would have the development of the school and the Association as priority in their agenda.

He said the MOBA National Executive Committee (MOBA NEC) had chosen the theme, ‘The New Dawn’ for the occasion to guide them in their work.

“The Mfantsipim Brand is solid – It is God’s gift to us. We have to nurture it, grow it and always keep it strong. This means we have to stay united and focused to achieve our collective aim of making our Alma Mater the best in the world”, the Ebusuapanyin-elect stated.

He added that the new MOBA National Executive Committee was committed to ensuring that the Association was financially viable to meet all its targets.

“To be strong, we have to be financially stable with a sound strategy for financial growth.

A financially strong MOBA will make it easier to support the school, sponsor projects, support old boys and promote teacher and learning programmes.

“One of the instruments we will use for the financial stability of MOBA will be the Endowment Fund which is a mandatory provision in the MOBA constitution”, Captain Forjoe said, adding that the Fund will help MOBA diversify its income and reduce its dependency on donors.

He mentioned Vice-President Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur and The Rt. Rev Dr. Nuh Ben Abubekr, the former Methodist Bishop of Kumasi, as some of the prominent Old Boys of Mfantsipim who will grace the induction ceremony.
