Methodist Education Unit in Cape Coast directs Pupil Teachers to re-apply

Cape Coast, July 21, GNA - Pupil teachers who would want to continue to be in Methodist Schools are being requested to re-apply for confirmation or face dismissal by August 15, 2011.

This was announced by the Central Regional Manager of the Methodist Education Unit, Mr John E.K. Pratt, at a one-day capacity-building workshop organised for stakeholders of its Basic Schools at Cape Coast and Winneba.

The Regional Manager said failure to re-apply by August 15, 2011 would be interpreted as a resignation by the teachers concerned and would lead to their replacement.

He said he had already written to all Headteachers of Methodist Basic Schools in the Region to that effect.

Mr Pratt said all such applications should be accompanied by a Ghana Education Service Personnel Record Form duly completed, signed and endorsed by the Headteachers.

He said the Headteachers were to write confidential reports on such teachers in their schools and submit same to the Unit office.

Participants included local managers, headteachers, Chairmen of School Management Committees and Parent-Teachers Associations.

Two hundred and seventy participants attended the workshop at Cape Coast, while 207 attended the one at Winneba.

The workshop aimed to equip the stakeholders to effectively contribute to the efficient administration of their schools.
