The Airport East Circuit of the Northern Accra Diocese of the Methodist Church last Sunday held a food and drinks bazaar as part of activities celebrating its first anniversary.

The bazaar, held at the Immanuel Methodist Church, was simultaneously organised in the other 15 circuits under the Northern Accra Diocese.

Very Reverend Dr Jacob French, Superintendent Minister of the Circuit, speaking to the Ghanaian Times, said the event was also to foster peace, love and unity among Christians.

He stated that each organisation of church was tasked to prepare a dish of a selected region as well as to adorn the attire of that region.

“So we have Women’s Fellowship dressed in Northern garbs and serving foods typical to the Northern Region, however the organisations represented the 10 former regions of Ghana,” Very Rev French added.

“Methodist as a church, has always been a contextual movement and our practice of Christ is placed in the culture of the people and as such, we must follow Christ whilst living in our cultural practices and beliefs,” Very Rev French stated.

He urged all members of the Northern Accra Diocese to continue to believe in the church and to wholeheartedly contribute to the development and growth of the Diocese.

The bazaar was blended with cultural music and attires with various types of drinks and beverages as well as the different types of meals garnished with fish and meat of different species.
