Members in Zongo communities urged to rally behind good policies

Kumasi, Feb 6, GNA - The National Co-ordinator of the Savannah Young Executive Forum, a youth group in the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Teacher Awudu Dawuni, has appealed to people in Zongo communities to collectively rally behind policies and programmes that seek to promote their welfare.

He said political differences should not be made to divide them and crowd their judgment in the quest for initiatives that would help improve their living condition. Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in an interview in Kumasi on Tuesday, Teacher Dawuni, said Zongo communities lacked many development projects such as schools, hospitals and decent accommodation while poverty continued to plague most of them.

He said the government, through the introduction of a number of initiatives such as the capitation grant, national health insurance scheme and school feeding programme, was helping to make most people in Zongo communities better off and urged the people to rally behind it to ensure that things changed for the better.

Teacher Dawuni, who is also an NPP polling station chairman for Adukrom electoral area in the Asawasi constituency, appealed to Muslim parents to let the education of their children be of prime concern to them to ensure better future for their children.
