Member of Parliament for the Daboya/Mankarigu Constituency, Mahama Shaibu has supported victims of a recent chieftaincy disturbances in the constituency with assorted items worth thousands of Ghana cedis.

The legislator in a bid to amend the suffering visited on the people as a result of the clashes, donated twenty (20) bags of rice, fifty (50) pieces of sleeping mats, one box of Maggie cube and thirty-six (36) litres of cooking oil to the affected communities.

The MP who described the incident as unfortunate, saddening and unpleasant, took the opportunity to commiserate with the people. He reminded the people of the need to smoke the peace pipe since they were one people.

According to him, the only enemy the people had was a committed desire to redeem themselves from the backwaters of poverty and under-development. He believes without oneness and respect for the time-tested tradition of the people, the quest for development will remain elusive.

"We have been and continue to be one people united in the unwavering desire and commitment to redeem ourselves from the backwaters of poverty and under- development. Our surge in this light will yield zero results if we fail to appreciate the beauty and value of oneness anchored on respect for our time-tested traditions as a people,” he stated.

Mahama Shaibu launched a passionate appeal to other individuals, institutions and philanthropies to support the victims in any way they can since the people were in dire need of help.

He also called for the cooperation of all parties in achieving the roadmap outlined by the Regional Security Council whilst assuring of his continuous visibility and support in this time of crisis.
