Mayday - Kenyasi

At Kenyasi, Mr Opoku Peprah, District Chief Executive (DCE) of Asutifi District Assembly on Tuesday stressed the need to equip the youth with the requisite skills, knowledge and technology to make them active and functional.

He said it was necessary to empower the youth so that they could work in the country to curtail the brain drain phenomenom, "since they formed the most active segment of the population". Mr Peprah was speaking at a ceremony to mark the regional celebration of the May Day by the workers at the Anglican School Park at Kenyasi Number One in the District. The Regional Minister Mr Ignatius Baff our Awuah read the President's May Day address.

The DCE commended the workers for resisting the pressures and attractions in other parts of the globe in spite of challenging working conditions in the country. The ceremony was attended by officials of the Regional Coordinating Council, Heads of Departments and chiefs and people of the Region.
