Manya Krobo Rural Bank presents PPE to health directorate

The Manya Krobo Rural Bank Ltd has, through the Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Health Directorate in the Eastern Region presented PPE worth GH¢35,000.00 to three hospitals in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality as part of its efforts to support the fight against the novel Coronavirus pandemic.

The items including gallons of hand sanitizers, face masks, surgical gloves, paper napkins, liquid soup, among others, would be shared among the health directorate and the three major hospitals in the municipality including Atua Government Hospital, Akuse Government Hospital and the St. Martin de Porres Hospital.

Presenting the items at a brief ceremony at the premises of the health directorate, former Member of Parliament (MP) for Lower Manya Krobo constituency and Board Member and Chairman of the Business Development Committee, Michael Teye Nyaunu applauded the efforts of the health workers especially the frontline workers for fearlessly putting up their lives to fight the novel coronavirus.

He commended the health personnel, noting that history will never forget their sacrifices at the peril of their lives.

Explaining the motive behind the donation, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Manya Krobo Rural Bank Ltd, Mr. Edmund Tawiah Ohipeni said keeping frontline workers battle-ready to eradicate the global Canker as they lay down their lives to fight the Coronavirus motivated the Board of Directors, Management and Staff of the bank to assist the Health Directorate and health facilities in the Municipality.

“One sector that is worth celebrating, commending and appreciating is the Health Sector. These men and women have dedicated their lives to fight the pandemic” Mr. Ohipeni said.

“The Manya Krobo Rural Bank Ltd which operates in the Municipality saw the importance to assist and express our appreciation to the health workers for the good and hard work you are doing.”

The CEO further noted that “with their prime aim of providing excellent customer service to its cherished customers in all times, the Bank will forever keep supporting the people especially in health matters because it is only when they are healthy and have a life that they can work hard and do business with the bank.”

The Municipal Health Promotion Officer, Rose Lawerh on behalf of the Health Directorate thanked the Manya Krobo Rural Bank Ltd for their kind gesture and called on the general public and all stakeholders in the locality to support their day to day affairs as they continue with their sacrifice amid the global Coronavirus.

She, however, urged all and sundry to adhere to the protocols put in place by health authorities to help fight the deadly COVID 19.

She cautioned that the disease is real and urged the general public to be vigilant to avoid contracting it.
