Mando citizens to pay levy for development projects

Ajumako-Mando, (C/R), Aug.16, GNA- The citizens of Ajumako-Mando in the Central Region, are contributing 100,000 cedis each a year, over a five-year period for provision of development projects in the town. The projects include a community centre, library, kindergarten and bungalows for the staff of the local Secondary/Technical School and extension of electricity supply to a clinic in the town.

The Assemblyman for the area, Mr. Kofi Assan, made this known at a fund-raising harvest, which yielded 40 million cedis for the projects. He appealed to all citizens to pay their levies promptly.

The District Chief Executive, Mr. Kenneth Obempong commended the people for their self-help spirit and assured them that the Assembly will assist communities that are prepared to help themselves.
