MTN to support Ga Homowo

Accra, Aug. 15, GNA - MTN, a major telecommunication company in the country, has pledged its support towards this year's Ga Homowo Festival and executive committee of the company has paid a courtesy call on the Ga Mantse, King Tackie Tawiah to announce its support. Mr George Andah, Chief Marketing Officer of MTN, presented 5,000 Ghana cedis, assorted MTN branded souvenirs worth 1,000 Ghana cedis, and three fully connected mobile phones, among other things, to the Ga Mantse.

He said the festival expressed some of the company's values, which drove the business. Mr Andah compared the "Can Do" spirit of the Gas, which urged them to fight and overcome hunger, to the values of MTN, which had helped the company in the industry.

He added that MTN would invest in activities to provide the people of Ga state a true MTN festival experience which included a special Ga community football gala on Friday.

The Ga Mantse thanked MTN for the football gala, saying this would give the youth an opportunity to display their talent in football. He said this year's festival would be celebrated on a low key because of the death of the spiritual head of the Gas, Naa Wulomo. He said Homowo was a special occasion when Gas got the opportunity to communicate with their forefathers and ask for their direction in all endeavours.
