MTN Ghana Foundation has presented 50 hampers to mothers of babies born on Christmas day at the Korle Bu Teaching hospital in Accra.

Items in the hamper, included assorted diapers, baby wipes, baby powder, baby clothing, toiletries and toys among others.

Mr Robert Kuzoe, Executive Secretary of the Foundation, said the purpose of the presentation was to celebrate and share in the joy and excitement of the season with the babies and their mothers.

He said babies were God’s precious gifts to man and being born on a day recognised as the birth date of Jesus Christ, made it more special.

He said a total of 180 hampers were distributed to babies born in three hospitals including Tamale Teaching Hospital, Komfo Anokye and Efia Nkwanta Teaching Hospital.

He said MTN was committed to supporting the maternal health system in the country and that was why for the past six years, thousands of people had benefited from their assistance.

He said this year, the foundation donated 10 incubators and 5 ventilators to 15 selected hospital across the country at a total cost of GH¢125,000.00.

Mrs Comfort Opare, Principal Nursing Officer of Korle Bu, commended the management for their gesture and called on other corporate institutions to support.
