MP tours communities

Nkwaeso (B/A) Sept. 20, GNA - Mr. Addai Simons, Member of Parliament for Techiman South Constituency, has called on communities to remain loyal and committed to the developmental needs of the people and the nation as a whole.

He said it is only when the people corporate with one another and live in unity without any unhealthy political rivalry that they would be able to forge ahead for the meaningful development of the area. Mr. Addai Simons said these at separate rallies of chiefs and people of Nkwaeso and Kuntunso as part of his familiarization visit to fraternize with the people in the constituency.

Some of the communities he visited include Traa, Sansama, Gyewukrom, Konkrompe, Srapukrom, Anitinfi, Akissimasu, Bonkwae and Aworopataa.

Mr. Addai Simons expressed concern for children to be educated enough as the global village continues to become more sophisticated and technologically advanced.

The MP also implored the communities to be serious with matters concerning sanitation and above all adopt communal activities to better their lot.

He asked parents to guide their wards well so that they would refrain from leading promiscuous lifestyles, adding that HIV/AIDS menace retards the development of any goal set by government.

Mr. Addai Simons assured the people of regular visit in order to know their needs for them to find ways to solve such issues together for the development of their communities. At Nkwaeso, Mr. Kwame Asi, the Assemblyman, thanked the MP for locating 4.5 million cedis of his Common Fund towards the completion of their clinic, library and KVIP.

Mr. Asi called for mounting of speed rumps in the area to minimize road accidents, especially vehicles running over pedestrians and also appealed for the rehabilitation of the Nkwaeso-Kwawire feeder roads to enable farmers transport their foodstuffs to the marketing centres. Nana Foase Gyan, Chief of Nkwaeso commended the MP for donating football and set of jerseys to Nananoom Football Club towards the promotion of sporting activities in the area.

At Kuntunso, Nana Sekyere Boateng, Assemblyman for the area in a welcoming address, appealed to the MP to help the people in the area to implement their electrification project, which had been placed under the SHEP 4 programme.

Nana Boateng stressed the need for the reconstruction of the Kutabom JSS, which had become dilapidated and had affected effective teaching and learning.

Nana Boakye Ansah Boffour, Chief of Kuntunso, reiterated the need for the provision of electricity to improve the lifestyles of the people. He commended the Adventist Development Relief Agency (ADRA) for the assistance being given to cashew farmers and appealed to the MP to emulate the gesture of ADRA in soliciting funds for the farmers to improve their living conditions.

Among those who accompanied the MP were, Mr. Boakye Ameyaw, Secretary, Madam Mary Antwi, Women's organizer, Grace Boakye, treasurer and Mumuni Saaka Adam, organizer all of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Techiman South constituency.
