MP supports security services in Salaga-South constituency

The Salaga-South Constituency Chairman, Haruna Abdul Aziz, on behalf of the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Salaga-South Constituency, Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah, on Tuesday December 23, 2025, presented two (2) cows to the various security services within the municipality.

Speaking during the presentation ceremony, Haruna Abdul Aziz, popularly known as Chairman Abotsi, stated that the donation forms part of an annual initiative by the MP as her Christmas package to the security agencies.

He explained that the gesture is aimed at appreciating the immense sacrifices and dedication of security personnel in safeguarding peace and security within the municipality.

He further noted that the MP remains deeply grateful for the tireless efforts of the security services and is committed to working closely with all security agencies and stakeholders to sustain peace and stability in the area.

On behalf of the MP, Chairman Abotsi extended warm Christmas greetings and best wishes for a prosperous New Year to all security personnel and constituents, while encouraging everyone to celebrate the festive season with moderation and kindness.

Chief Superintendent Samuel A Odami, representing the Municipal Police Service, the Immigration Service and the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB), received one cow on behalf of the agencies.

He expressed profound appreciation to the MP for her generosity and compassion, assuring all stakeholders that the security services would continue to work diligently to ensure peace and security before, during and after the Christmas festivities.

The Municipal Prisons Service and the Fire Service jointly received the second cow as their Christmas package.

Chief Superintendent Emmanuel Adu Gandhi, the Municipal Prisons Service Commander, on behalf of both services, thanked the MP for her consistent support and motherly care.

He noted that the gesture was not surprising, given the MP’s long-standing commitment to the welfare of the security agencies.

He prayed for God’s continued guidance and protection for the MP as she serves the people of Salaga-South.

In a related development, the MP had earlier donated assorted food items, including 500 bags of rice and 500 gallons of cooking oil, to various security agencies, departments, institutions, churches, community leaders and opinion leaders in anticipation of the Christmas celebrations.

The Constituency Chairman was accompanied during the donation exercise by the following officials and stakeholders, Sumalia Ibn Hafiz, Constituency Zongo Caucus Coordinator; Madam Haruna Suwad, Deputy Constituency Women’s Organizer; Braimah Gazila, Deputy Constituency Treasurer Madam Nadia Alidu, Constituency Executive Member, Tanko Yakubu, Election Director, Mustapha Taufa, Former Constituency Communication Officer, Tahiru Mubarik, Branch Executive Member, Kwabena Andrews, Special Aide to the MP; Madam Alice, a staff member of NADMO; and Saaka Sulemana, Research Assistant to the MP.
