MP supports Ngleshie Amanfro Police Station project

Mr Bright Demordzi, Member of Parliament for Bortianor/Ngleshie Amanfrom Constituency, has donated 100 bags of cement and two trips of chippings in aid of the construction of the Ngleshie Amanfrom Top Town Police Station.

The items totaling GH¢ 5,400 and the second in the series, was to support the Residents Association in the area to put up the station to curtail rampant armed robbery in the vicinity.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency in Accra, Mr Demordzi said since the insurgence of robbery cases in Top Town and its environs, he collaborated with the National Security to upgrade the access road to the township to make it motorable.

He said the armed robbers were taking advantage of the poor nature of the road to execute their crimes.

Mr Demordzi said they also formed a watchdog Committee, which is yet to be inaugurated as part of the measures to clamp down on the criminals in the area and its environs.

He assured the people that he will do all he could to ensure that peace returned to the area and everybody could go around their daily activities devoid of fear of armed robbery attacks.

“I want to assure my Constituents that I will not rest until their problems are fixed and I’m doing all I can for all of us to protect our lives and properties,” he said, and urged people to show interest in the project to facilitate its completion as well as increase police presence in the area to curb armed robbery cases.

Mr Demordzi also thanked the Inspector General of Police, Mr Mohammed Ahmed Alhassan and his men for acting swiftly to curtail the situation and appealed to the Police Administration to continue to support them to complete the project as scheduled.

Mr Daniel Addo, President of the Ngleshie Amanfrom Top Town Residents Association, thanked the Member of Parliament for his continuous support for the project and pledged the peoples’ support for his political career.

He announced that the Police Administration has also donated 2,500 blocks and 100 bags of cement towards the project and urged the residents to also contribute voluntarily, especially with labour to enable them achieve their dream.

He said the quantity of materials received from both the Member of Parliament and the Police Administration could raise the building to a point, if the residents would rally behind them and support them with labour.

Armed robbers invaded Ngleshie Amanfrom Top Town and its environs some two months back and it has taken the timely intervention of the police administration and the Member of Parliament for the area to clamp down on the criminals and returned peace to the area.
