MP inaugurates ultra-modern traffic light

Accra, Feb. 22, GNA - Mr Theophilus Tetteh Chaie, Member of Parliament (MP) of the National Democratic Congress for Ablekuma Central, at the weekend inaugurated a GHc 46,000 ultra-modern solar traffic light at Flamingo Junction in Accra.

The traffic light has a transponder controller to detect any fault for the Department of Urban Roads to fix it. It can also function 48 hours non-stop without power and is energy efficient.

The MP expressed delight about the project and threw his weight behind the provision of road and educational infrastructure in the area. Mr Chaie called on the people to forge ahead in unity to encourage government to bring more development to their community. He said the provision of social services was a long-term investment in human resource development.

Mr Abass Awulu, Metropolitan Director of Urban Roads said 47 of such modern traffic light would be fixed in Accra and urged the public to ensure their safety.

Three of the traffic lights have been placed at Abbosey-Okai, Zongo Junction and the Radio Gold Junction on the mortuary road. 22 Feb. 10
