MP breaks grounds for three projects in Akim Osiem

Member of parliament for Abuakwa North Constituency also the Deputy Minister For Gender, Children and Social Protection now the Deputy Minister designate for Education, Honorable Gifty Twum-Ampofo, has cut sword for three projects namely, market square, bridge on the Subri Antwi River and a covert to kick start at Akyem Osiem in the Abuakwa North Municipality in the Eastern Region of Ghana.

Gifty Twum-Ampofo disclosed that, as part of the one constituency one million dollar policy by the Nana Akufo Addo-led administration, the constituency was given one market project and she found it necessary to situate it at Akyem Osiem due to political and economic viability.

She further stated that the market will boost the socio-economic development of the area. The project is expected to be completed in six months (August 2019)

Speaking on the bridge and covert, the Deputy Minister said, she has received numerous complaints of how commuters find it difficult to cross the Subri Antwi River during rainy seasons for their normal day to day activities hence the need to have it constructed will facilitate their movement.

On the covert she narrated, "it connects the Presbyterian Basic School to the Osiem township and pupils find it difficult to go to school whenever it rains so I find it prudent to be fixed to improve teaching and learning in the community".

On behalf of the Chief of Akyem Osiem, Barima Agyei Mireku II, Nana Twum -Ampofo, Gyaase Hene, thanked the NPP government being represented by the Member of parliament, Honorable Gifty Twum-Ampofo and the Municipal Chief Executive of Abuakwa North, Honorable Owusu Twum-Ampofo, for making Akyem Osiem have their share of the national cake and pledged their support to ensure that the government succeeds in all their endeavours.
