The Member of Parliament for Shai-Osudoku, Linda Obenewaa Akweley Ocloo, brought the spirit of Christmas and the New Year to life across her constituency through a series of impactful outreach activities aimed at promoting inclusion, appreciation, and community solidarity during the festive season.

Describing her mission as both a public servant and a mother figure for the region, Ocloo emphasized that no constituent should be left behind during Christmas, regardless of their background or circumstances.

“This Christmas, my mission as your MP and more importantly, as a mother for this region, is to ensure that the warmth of the season reaches everyone,” she stated.

As part of the festivities, the MP spent time engaging with youth in several inner-city enclaves across the Shai-Osudoku Constituency, popularly referred to as “ghetto youths.”

To support their celebrations and ease the burden of the season, she facilitated the distribution of rice and refreshments.

According to her, the initiative was not only about food but about reinforcing a sense of belonging and hope among young people.

“Our youth are the heartbeat of this constituency,” Ocloo said. “Beyond the food and drinks, this outreach is a testament to our commitment to social inclusion and communal love. No one is forgotten; no one is left behind.”

The MP also extended her goodwill to Okada riders, acknowledging their critical role in keeping the constituency mobile, describing them as “the wheels of Shai-Osudoku,” she visited various rider groups and shared rice and drinks with them as a token of appreciation for their tireless service.

She praised their dedication and encouraged them to prioritize safety on the roads during the festive season and beyond.

“I recognize the long hours and sacrifices these men make to support their families and serve the public,” she said. “This is a small way of saying thank you and wishing them a safe and joyful Christmas.”

Education and youth empowerment also featured prominently in the legislator’s festive activities. She made a notable donation of GHS 10,000 to the Dodowa Newtown D/A Government School Girls, popularly known as the “Saito Girls,” after a video showcasing their talent and confidence went viral on social media.

The donation was intended to motivate the pupils to dream bigger and strive for excellence.

Upon receiving the support, the girls humbly appealed for assistance toward establishing a school library, acquiring dual desks, as well as textbooks and exercise books to enhance their learning experience.

The MP assured them of her continued support and encouraged them to serve as ambassadors for public schools, inspiring other pupils to believe in themselves and their potential.

She also commended their facilitator, Deborah Crentsil, for her dedication and passion in nurturing the young talents.

According to the MP, the moment highlighted the positive power of social media in amplifying talent and creating meaningful opportunities for young people.

Capping off the festive season in another emotional engagement, Ocloo spent time with widows across the constituency, describing the encounter as one of profound solidarity.

She noted that honoring widows during the festive season was a priority she held dear, adding that their resilience and prayers strengthened her resolve to serve.

“There is no greater fulfillment than the joy of service,” she said. “Their strength inspires my stewardship, and their prayers fortify our journey toward a more inclusive and prosperous constituency.”

Prior to these, on December 24, 2025, the lawmaker hosted and donated Christmas goodies to about 1,200 constituency branch executives at her residence, in appreciation of their dedication and grassroots support.

Through these initiatives, Linda Akweley Ocloo reaffirmed her commitment to compassionate leadership, community development, and inclusive governance, urging constituents to celebrate the season with peace, love, and responsibility.
